Holiday Joy: Bright Notes for Brighter Futures is a two-day celebration presented by the Conrad O. Johnson Music & Fine Arts Foundation, honoring 25 years of education, performance, and community uplift through music. This festive weekend blends world-class artistry, youth excellence, and holiday spirit in support of the Foundation’s scholarship and education programs.
The event opens on Saturday, December 20, 2025, with a free masterclass led by NEA Jazz Master Hubert Laws, offering students and community members an extraordinary opportunity to learn directly from one of the most influential flutists in modern music.
The celebration continues on Sunday, December 21, 2025, with the annual Holiday Joy Concert, held at The Ballroom at Tanglewood in Houston. Doors open at 1:30 PM, followed by a reception at 2:00 PM and the concert at 3:00 PM.
This year’s concert features the Conrad O. Johnson Regional Youth Ensemble, performing alongside members of the legendary Laws family—Hubert Laws, Ronnie Laws, Eloise Laws, and Debra Laws—plus acclaimed saxophonist Kyle Turner and guitarist Joe Carmouche.
Tables of ten are available for $1,000; individual tickets are $100. Proceeds benefit the Regional Youth Orchestra Scholarship Fund, After School Programs, and the Summer Music Institute Program.
